Inspired by the quilt banners in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, I began a long journey into creating my very own quilt. The banners are basically a succession of diamond shaped blocks, but it still took me two years of drawing and testing to finally understand how to construct my quilt. Why? I wanted to design a quilt pattern while piecing my quilt to help others create their very own, no matter their skill level. Once I figured out the trick to sewing the strips of fabrics at an angle without creating any distortions, it only took me 4 weeks to finish the quilt top. You can make your very own panel with my Dancing Diamonds pattern published by PlumEasy Patterns.
