I have always loved the colours of the rainbow, how they blend from one colour to the next, showing every colour imaginable. I remember reciting the order of the colours as a kid and my disbelief when someone on a televised game show couldn’t do the same. How could they not know that the colour between yellow and red was orange?
As an adult I appreciate how these different colours can convey moods and characteristics. How some colours “speak” more to one person than the next. I’m always drawn to jewel tones such as turquoise, fuchsia and magenta. I love how they make me feel when I look at them and when I wear them. They give me energy and confidence. Batik fabrics such as the ones I used in this project inspire me and bring me joy!
