Teach Peace Flower Power Quilt

If you could have one wish, what would it be? My answer is peace. The older I get, the more I find myself avoiding conflict in my life and it’s amazing how much nicer life is. Peace is a desired state not only in my personal and professional life, but more importantly on a larger scale across communities and countries. With peace in the world, we can accomplish more as we all work together for the common good. In early to mid-2020 at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had a glimpse of what this could be like. The virus quickly became a global enemy; people and countries alike were working co-operatively together to battle this invisible threat. Sadly, this has not been sustained and I hope for renewal of this calming energy across the globe.

It is said that war is not inherent in humans, that war, violence, and likewise peace are learned behaviours. The past 18 months have reinforced that we need to teach the virtue of peace to our children, so they grow up to live with this state of mind.
