Sweethearts Welcome is a little piece to put on the door, in an entry area or on your kitchen wall to greet you first thing in the morning – wherever you’d like to see a warm welcome that will make you smile.
Our sample is done in two different red colours with a touch of green added – redwork with a bit of flair – but this design would work with many colour combinations. Your favourite colours and your imagination are sure to suggest a possibility that is just perfect for you. We have used beads for sparkle but French knots could be used instead.
This project would make a wonderful gift (in the recipient’s favourite colours, of course!). It would also look lovely surrounded by patchwork – perhaps 1″ checkerboard squares or bordered in a beautiful fabric. It can then be made into a small wall hanging or used as a pocket on a quilted tote bag.
