Inspired by the travel and destination theme for this issue, I used Red Heart Colorscape yarn in the colourway called Rome. The yarn conjured thoughts of Roman columns and archways for me. I played with stitch patterns that would look like pillars and have large openings. The results are a shawl with a beautiful curved drape that can be worn so many ways.

The shawl does not match the diagram, as the first 6 rows jut out above the shawl top edge, instead of forming part of a smooth neckline. Beginning with chain long enough for row 7 might help.

Hi Eileen, thank you for your question. The collar is an option. Lorna’s sample does have a curled/folded collar as you can see in the photo attached. So it isn’t an error, just a design choice.
