My daughter and I watched the 2015 version of the Cinderella movie. In this version, Cinderella wore the most magical gown. When we saw the gown, we simultaneously said, “We should make a dress for prom!”
We considered making the dress from scratch, then decided that recycling a dress might be a better plan. Not only would it save us on materials and time, but it would give new life to one very lucky dress. We looked for a dress that had an adjustable bodice for size flexibility, a wide skirt that could be removed and replaced easily, and a petticoat with large amounts of crinoline to help puff out the skirt.
