At the CreativFestival in Toronto this past April, I decided to demonstrate the use of the double-ended hook. I was astonished at the response! I was surrounded for much of the day by people who came over to see what I was doing and ask questions about it. A number of them said that they had one of those hooks at home but could never figure out how to use it. Many others asked for instructions and patterns. So – for all those who’ve been wondering – here’s how to use the double-ended hook.

Double-ended hook crochet is a version of Tunisian (or Afghan) crochet. A regular Tunisian hook has a stopper at the opposite end of the hook but the double-ended hook has a hook at both ends.
