Fall Foliage Wall Quilt

Fall Foliage Wall Quilt

Fall is my favourite season of all! I realize how fortunate I am to be living in an area where fall allows for the trees to showcase the most beautiful fall foliage colours: from yellow and gold to red, orange, and brown while still having some green. I’m always surprised on how beautiful the country gets in the fall. When I noticed that I had a lot of batik scraps in the fall foliage colours, I thought it was time to make a quilt to remind me all year round the beauty of that season.

I had already created many projects piecing strips of fabrics together at a 60-degree angle and wanted to create a new quilt with this design idea as the starting block. As I was creating the quilt, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try some improv piecing. I was curious and ready to take my quilting experience up a notch.
