Summer Flight Wall Quilt

Summer Flight by Elizabeth Dillinger is an intermediate fibre art wall quilt that captures the warmth and movement of summer. Finished at 28½” x 26½” [72 x 67cm], this project begins with sun painted fabric using Seta Color paints, leaves or found objects, water misting and coarse salt for added texture. The design is finished with mitred borders, quilting, thread painting and dimensional butterfly embellishments made with Angelina Fibres, tulle and stitching. Makers will practise fabric painting, basic colour mixing, mitred borders, quilt layering, free motion thread painting and creating decorative butterflies with or without embroidery software.
