Summer Dryad Bag

Summer Dryad by Sherry Del Rizzo is an intermediate fibre art bag pattern filled with personality, texture, and summer whimsy. Finished at 7″ x 8½”, this small embellished bag features a stitched and sculpted face, painted details, dimensional leaves, Suffolk puffs, raised knot circles, gold tendrils, beads, old jewelry, and cording. The project invites makers to create their own tree spirit character while learning expressive surface design techniques. Skills include fabric layering, optional machine embroidery, needle sculpting, face shading, hand embroidery, embellishing, bead placement, making dimensional appliqué elements, bag construction, lining, and finishing.
