Sakura Wall Quilt

US$9.95

On a trip to Japan, designer Annette Janca was in awe of the beautiful landscape and the unique culture there. When creating this wall quilt, she wanted to incorporate all the wonderful things she had seen on her trip, beautiful cherry blossoms, known as sakura, that bloom at the start of spring; they symbolize a new beginning. As well, Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, is such an iconic landmark that she had to include it. The last element she added was a Geisha girl. Although not many are left in Japan it is part of their culture. She found their costumes to be so ornate, and as a sewer, she loved the fabrics and designs of their garments. Pieced and free motion quilted using PFAFF® creative icon™ 2 Top-of-the-Line Sewing and Embroidery Machine.
