Memories of Maine Quilt

Memories of Maine by Elizabeth Dillinger is an advanced fibre art quilted wall hanging inspired by a lighthouse landscape from Maine. Finished at 27″ x 22½” [68.5 x 57cm], this richly layered project shows how to turn a scenic image into a fabric collage using painted cotton, Steam-A-Seam, raw edge appliqué, Angelina film and fibres, decorative threads and free motion thread painting. Makers will practise painting sky, ocean and rock fabrics, building a lighthouse with folded clapboard texture, creating tree lines and light effects, assembling the quilted landscape, adding borders and thread painting through the quilt layers.
