Miss Kitty Wall Art

Miss Kitty by Kathleen Menzies is an intermediate punchneedle embroidery project inspired by a funny little marmalade cat that visited the designer’s garden. The finished embroidery measures approximately 3⅛” x 3⅛” and is worked on unbleached muslin using three strands of embroidery floss and a punchneedle tool. The small format makes it a charming miniature artwork for framing. Skills include tracing the design, stretching fabric tightly in a hoop, separating floss, punching even loops, outlining motifs, filling dense color areas, trimming threads, steaming, mounting the finished embroidery, and framing it without glass.
