Funky Stocking Punch Needle Banner by Christine Baker is an easy punchneedle pattern finished as a festive wool wall banner. The finished project measures 8″ x 14″, with a punchneedle stocking appliquéd onto felted wool and embellished with buttons. Skills involved include tracing the design onto weaver’s cloth, using a punchneedle, working small details and larger filled areas, preparing the punched piece for appliqué, cutting felted wool, adding hanging tabs and tongues, sewing on buttons, and blanket stitching the edges. The needlework technique used is miniature punchneedle, combined with wool appliqué and simple hand finishing.
