Notre Dame Crescent Shawl

This shawl was inspired by the heartbreaking fire of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris in 2019. The yarn chosen for this project has the colours of stained glass, and the overall shape of the shawl is suggestive of a section of the cathedral’s famous rose window. The horseshow lace motifs are reminiscent of gothic arches, and the columns between the arches evoke the flying buttresses that are quintessential traits of gothic architecture.
