Celtic Snowflake Ornament

Celtic Snowflake by Lauren Stephenson is an intermediate-level counted cross-stitch ornament inspired by Celtic triquetra knotwork and illuminated manuscripts. The reversible ornament is stitched over one thread on 32-count Belfast linen and finishes at approximately 3⅜” x 3⅜”. Skills involved include finding the fabric center, stitching over one thread, working cross-stitches with two strands of floss, adding metallic half-cross stitches with Treasure Braid Petite, keeping crosses even, and finishing the design as a two-sided ornament, two separate ornaments, or framed pieces. The needlework technique used is counted cross-stitch with metallic thread embellishment.
