Aran Inspired Scarf

This scarf is inspired by the intricate cable motifs of Aran fishermen’s sweaters, but it is not knit in a traditional style. Instead, a 4×4 rib becomes a reversible scarf of ropes and snakes, with cable manoeuvres occurring on both odd- and even- numbered rows. Instructions for three sizes are given, and notes are provided for altering both the length and width of the piece so that you can personalize it as desired. Natural coloured yarns would be most traditional, but the piece can be made in any colour, and its cabled design would suit anyone regardless of age or gender. Knit up in Universal Deluxe DK Superwash, colour Pulp.
