A Tale of Poe Cross Stitch Wall Art

Designed by Jo Gatenby, this beginner-level cross-stitch project draws inspiration from the gothic imagery and atmosphere of Edgar Allan Poe’s works. The design features a dramatic composition of raven’s skull motifs and a watercolour-inspired quill, stitched using half stitches to create a softer background effect. Clear charting supports confident stitching, with recommendations for strand count based on fabric choice.
Finished measurements are 11½” x 8¾” [29 x 22cm] on 11 count fabric, 9” x 7” [23 x 18cm] on 14 count, and 7¾” x 6” [20 x 15cm] on 16 count.
