Spring Blossom Wall Art

Spring Blossom by Carol Arsenault is an intermediate to advanced stumpwork embroidery project featuring dimensional flowers, wired leaves, delicate embroidery, and bead embellishment. Finished at 12″ x 12″, the design is worked on white fine linen or cotton with a backing fabric for support. The stitched branch, leaves, and flowers are combined with detached wired elements that are shaped and secured for a raised floral effect. Skills include design transfer, stem stitch, split back stitch, satin stitch, alternating satin stitch, long and short stitch, straight stitch, buttonhole stitch, detached elements, wire wrapping, beading, shaping petals and leaves, and finishing.
