Hello from the Desert Fabric Postcards

This project features the Saguaro. The desert is very dear to quilt designer Jennifer Houlden’s heart. She lived in the Australian Outback, which is very different from the desert in Arizona as it has no cacti. Today, she spends her winters in the Arizona desert, which has all kinds of cacti, and the Saguaro is one of her favourites. There are forests of them, and each Saguaro takes on its own personality; some are only tall towers of green while others have many arms reaching out, waving hi to all that pass by. Hence, here’s a big HELLO from the desert!
Each postcard has the same design but different methods of creating the Saguaro: using Texture Magic, fabric with batting behind the appliqué, and plain fabric. All are appliquéd to the background with either glue or fusible web.
