33 Steps Table Runner
Jennifer Houlden from Quilts by Jen, has a passion for colour and creating the illusion of movement in a quilt. This table runner is no exception as the wave-like design has lots of movement as it undulates from the top to bottom or side to side depending on how you look at it. Plus, the quilting in the background gives more texture and movement to the design making it feel like it’s a reflection of the rainbow colours.
I named it 33 Steps for its 33 pieces in the wavy rainbow path and reminds me of all the winding paths I have explored and travelled over the years. Making this table runner explores the fun of using unconventional quilting fabrics as well as trying out different quilting motifs to create texture.
This project was made as a table runner but could also be used as a wall quilt and can hang in an either horizontal or vertical orientation.
