Seashell Lace Socks
Seashell Lace Socks
To accommodate the stitch pattern, Kate has done something rather unorthodox. Most sock patterns have the heel worked on half the total sock stitches – I haven’t done that here. This allows me to keep the pattern centered and running neatly down into the foot, with a purl stitch on either side for balance. You can’t tell I’ve ‘cheated’ in the final result – it fits just as well, and looks even better! Designed by Kate Atherley [email protected]

Blossom Branches Socks
Blossom Branches Socks
This branching pattern incorporates tiny bunches of eyelets to give the impression of flowers. The colour is called raspberry but it makes Fiona think of the darker wine-like pink found in the centres of cherry blossom blooms. When choosing shoes she always pick one up and hold it to see how it will look to me when I’m wearing it. So I applied this notion to this sock design. The pattern changes at the ankle so that the branch effect can be seen not only by an admirer but also by the wearer. Designed by Fiona Ellis www.fionaellisonline.com

Bendy Bootees – Bootees
Bendy Bootees – Bootees with Knees
These bootees are an adaptation of an old pattern for “bootees with knees” – bootees that come up over a baby’s knees. Originally they were made to protect baby from drafts caused by the nightgowns babies used to wear. These days, the moms that have received them report that they protect little knees when the little ones take to crawling.
