Snips ‘n’ Snails Quilt
Sometimes what appears complex is the result of a simple concept. As well, what is conceived as simple can be a challenge. Before designer Monika Kinner-Whalen’s quilt project is dismissed as too complex or too simple, a closer look might reveal the opposite is true.

Shadow’s Cross & The Crows have Flipped
Keeping warm is often what we think about as fall arrives. We know that winter is just around the corner. In Canada, we love our wool sweaters and rugs on the floor and we also like a cozy quilt to curl up in. There is plenty of time to make this inviting quilt from designer Marlene Biles of Wawanesa, Manitoba, before the snow flies.

Hidden Secrets at St. Peter’s Abbey
When Hidden Secrets at St. Peter’s Abbey was on display, the first thing viewers notice is the effect of the stained glass. It actually looks like there is sunshine from behind the window. But on closer inspection, they noticed the hidden objects. What’s that? Yes, there are 6 corsets, 6 panties and 12 bras hidden in the stained glass design. Some viewers have even seen swimsuits! But the optical illusions have all been created from clever cutting of the challenge fabric.
