Texture is a very easy thing to achieve in embroidery. Many stitches can be used. Stitches such as French knots, bullion knots and lazy daisy give a raised appearance to any embroidery. Some techniques have filling patterns that create texture. Pulled thread has many fillings that create texture and a play of light. This design combines pulled thread and surface embroidery to create a textured design. You can use the colours I chose or use your own.
The stitches used: open trellis filling, wrapped back stitch (over four fabric threads), straight stitch, lazy daisy, bullion knot, French knot
