Tranquility Lace
Tranquility Lace
For many pieces I work from the centre out. For this design I completed the centre Kloster and then counted out to complete the Kloster for the border. Some may be more comfortable starting from the outer border in buttonhole stitch and work towards centre. I would recommend starting from the middle of a side and not the corner of the design as stitches are weakened when started at the corner. See arrows on chart for the starting point used in this sample. Designed by Kim Beamish [email protected] craftycreations-beamish.blogspot.ca

Balancing Act Afghan
Balancing Act Afghan
It’s no secret that most youngsters adore colour, so I chose lots of bright ones for this quilt-inspired blanket. If you prefer a softer look, try using Kertzer Northern Worsted pastels such as Candy Floss, Seamist, Buttercup and Wisteria as shown in the small photo below. You can also make the bobbles the same colour as the surrounding stripe for less ‘pop’ – as shown in the photo below. Have fun with colour and make this blanket your own. Happy crocheting! The Pinstripe Vest
The Pinstripe Vest
Inspired by classic menswear fashion, this vest has been designed to flatter a woman’s body. The pinstripes are made with a simple slip stitch pattern. The edges take advantage of the natural roll of reverse stocking stitch. The buttonholes are created while attaching the edging so there are no complex buttonhole skills required. There are decrease and increase shaping stitches to create dart lines in the body for extra style (see pattern notes for details on adjusting them). The vest points are created with a simplified short row technique that does not involve making wraps. Shadow’s Cross & The Crows have Flipped
Keeping warm is often what we think about as fall arrives. We know that winter is just around the corner. In Canada, we love our wool sweaters and rugs on the floor and we also like a cozy quilt to curl up in. Rice Cakes Jacket
Rice Cakes Jacket
The name for this jacket is derived from the rice stitch used for the body. Seed stitch makes a good complement for the bands, which are worked as the body is made using intarsia technique. The bands can be made in the same yarn as the body, but contrasting bands make good use of the current colour blocking trend. Top-down knitting makes for minimal sewing and the Chanel-styling with raglan sleeves is timeless.
